Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Refugees are people who have fled war, violence, conflict or persecution and have crossed an international border to find safety in another country.

Asylum Seekers are people who have made an application for refugee and/or subsidiary protection status.

Many of our sisters work with Refugees and Asylum Seekers, in many and varied situations.  Some sisters in a volunteer capacity visit people in the Direct Provision Accommodation Centres and offer them support, a listening ear, and friendship.
