Pastoral Ministry in School

I am involved in Pastoral Ministry at Primary school level.  I visit St. Louise’s Primary School and there is a lot of variety in my ministry there. I organise Para liturgies for significant Church and Vincentian feasts.  I enjoy the times of centring Prayer and Meditation with the 6th class pupils

The occasions of input and discussion with the boys in the local primary school are always memorable.

I collaborate with the Parish Priest, parents and teachers in the preparation of the children for receiving the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.  I am involved in the preparation and delivery of the programmes for the parents and in the Parish Masses for the children and their families.

When I am needed I help in the pastoral ministry in the parish.  In particular I am involved in the area of Bereavement support.

Sisters are part of the team of Diocesan Advisors at Primary and Post Primary level in the Archdiocese of Dublin. They promote partnership in Religious Education between Home, School and Parish to help children develop a living relationship with Jesus Christ.  They provide resources and pastoral support to religion teachers and chaplains. In service for teachers and faith days for chaplains are also organised.
