The Daughters of Charity live in local communities and they vary in size depending on the ministry of the house. In Ireland we have …. houses. There are in Dublin, one house in Cork, one house in Galway, one house in Limerick and two houses in Belfast. There are … houses in Kenya. The Sisters work out together their times for prayer, community and times of celebration. This is done with a view to their ministry of service in parish, prison, hospital, school, or wherever they serve. The Sisters accept one another in faith and they strengthen one another with a view to mission.
Our co –foundress Saint Louise de Marillac modelled our life in community on the Blessed Trinity, living in unity and respecting diversity in honour of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Rublev Icon offers us an image that would help us to pray to the Trinity.
Saint Louise had a special devotion to the Trinity. Here is a prayer based on her Spiritual Writings. We celebrate Saint Louise’s feast day on 15 March annually.
Adored Trinity- Based on Spiritual Writings 770
I adore you, most Holy Trinity,
One God, in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
I thank you for all the graces that I have received from your goodness.
I give you my heart and all that I have, so as
henceforth to carry out your Holy will.
Saint Louise de Marillac (1651 - 1660)
