General Assembly 2009

On 7 May 182 Daughters of Charity representing 78 Provinces gathered in the Motherhouse in Paris for the General Assembly. 

Golden Jubilee of St Louise's National Schools

On Sunday 26 April 2009 Sr Catherine Prendergast, Provincial, members of the Boards of Management, Principals, staff, pupils and parents were joined by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin as the chief Concelebrant of Mass to mark the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of St Louise's Junior and Senior National Schools, Drumfinn Road, Ballyfermot. 

Vow Reflection Day

On Saturday 21 February 2009 a group of about seventy Daughters of Charity gathered in St Catherine's Provincial House to reflect on the Vincentian Character of our Vows.

Human Trafficking

Recently Sr Margaret Barrett, General Councillor, called a 'Think Tank' to consider the poverty of Human Trafficking.  It is believed that more than 1.5 million people are trafficked each year.  The industry is said to be worth $36 billion in Europe alone. Through it, human life is reduced to a commodity and this constitutes a tragedy of huge proportions for the victims who are powerless to escape.
